Rinse after leaving the water
Speedo advises rinsing swimwear in fresh cold water after use. Do this as soon as practical after a pool or sea swim, then check the suit's label for its cleaning instructions. A rinse removes some residue but is not an answer to every cleaning need.
Be careful where you place the wet suit. Rough pool edges and abrasive surfaces can affect the fabric. If you need to carry it home in a wet bag, unpack it promptly rather than treating the bag as overnight storage.
Wash according to the suit
Follow the manufacturer's method and product guidance. Speedo's general care advice includes gentle hand washing with mild soap where appropriate and avoiding machine washing or tumble drying for the fabrics covered by that guidance. Your own suit's label is the deciding reference.
Handle the fabric gently instead of wringing it hard. Be especially careful around straps, cups and decorative parts. A suit described as chlorine-resistant still needs care; the description does not mean every component can tolerate unlimited exposure or any laundry process.
Dry before packing away
Let the swimsuit dry naturally in a suitable shaded place away from direct heat, following its label. Do not leave it rolled in a wet towel. The towel and suit can hold chlorinated water together, and the bundle delays proper drying.
Check thicker areas and linings before putting the suit into a drawer or suitcase. If you swim frequently, plan enough drying time between sessions or rotate suitable suits when practical. The most effective routine is one you can complete after an ordinary swim: rinse, appropriate cleaning, gentle handling and a place where the whole garment can become dry.
